The Inquirer’s crime blog, Rap Sheet, has an item today about how cops feel about Allen Iverson’s departure from the Philadelphia 76ers.

Yes, indeedy, the police have an opinion on our good buddy A.I., and — gee, what a surprise? — most are happy to see him go. (But if Michael Chitwood were still with the force, he’d probably be begging the 76ers to keep Iverson.)

“He’s a hoodlum, a thug” proclaimed one police officer. Another one of Philly’s finest said, “He doesn’t make our lives any easier as cops. He thinks he can drive a thousand miles an hour down City Avenue and that no one is supposed to say anything to him.” Another officer commented how disgusted she was when he allegedly turned down a young fan looking to get his autograph at TGI Fridays.

A hoodlum! A thug! Gee, I can’t wait until the Sixers trade him for Theo Ratliff’s expiring contract.
