Philadelphia, Friday December 8, 2006: WUSL FM – Power 99 fm travel with members of Mothers in Charge to deliver Holiday Pies to families who have lost loved ones to violence this year. “The Empty Plate” campaign will kick off at 4:00 pm when members of Mothers in Charge, an organization of women who’ve lost children to violence will be joined by Power 99 fm’s Sam Sylk from the Sam Sylk Morning show to deliver over 300 pies donated by Brown’s Family Shoprite. Dorothy Johnson Speight, co founder of Mothers in Charge says, “The holidays are a very difficult time for families who have lost a member to violence. It’s hard to sit at the table to see an empty plate. The purpose of this campaign is to bring a little sweetness to a bitter time.” To date there have been over 370 homicides in the City of Philadelphia.

Mothers in Charge and Power 99 fm will gather at Clear Channel Radio – 111 Presidential Boulevard, Suite 100, Bala Cynwyd, PA 19004 at 4:00 pm. From there they will travel to the homes of the families including Mr. Ray Johnson of 3201 W. Dauphin Street who’s 80 year old father was murdered and Sheila Crawley who lost her 25 year old son to gun violence.

Also families who have been touched by tragedy are asked to call 215-235-SAVE to pick up a pie at Mother’s in Charge headquarters located at 2233 West Alleghany Avenue, Philadelphia, PA 19132.

You people are sick. Headless body in topless bar. That man was my friend. And you think that’s pretty funny but a .22 derringer doesn’t do that much damage. Go make a mockery of you mother’s head, I heard she gives it good.
