Nobody Puts Milton Street In A Corner
Last night, Milton Street sat down with NBC 10’s Tim Lake for an interview about his recent indictment and all that jazz. Tim Lake didn’t ask the “Are you guilty?” question straight-up, but Street still trotted out with his confusing “If you come to court, all that will be unraveled in court” response he was using on the day of the indictment. It’s like he’s going to be selling tickets and food at the courthouse. Perhaps he’ll be vending popcorn outside the trial! There were some ridiculous exchanges, though, of course:
There’s a full transcript at video over at NBC 10. It’s good stuff. Milton Street Denies Charges In Exclusive Interview [NBC 10] |

When was this on and who is Tim Lake?
I watched the 6 p.m. and 11 p.m. news on NBC on Wednesday and didn’t see it and they were talking about some police shooting over the weekend in Bermuda or Jamaica when the news started. I don’t ever think I ever seen any reporter named Tim Lake on it. There was a Tim Minton, but no Tim Lake. I don’t even think that they sat down to interview someone either.
Now is this NBC 10 some sort of cable bonus channel like the NBC 4 Weather Plus channel they talk about during the weather?
I really don’t pay much attention since I really just watch for the sports and weather, but I think I would have noticed this. Oh and I do like the gossip lady they have on Fridays at 5:30.
I like their Janice Huff, since she seems to be the best forecaster on TV. She is much better than that John Bolaris on CBS.
Len Berman had his fun Spanning the World segment on tonight with all the funny highlights of the month. I really like NBC’s sports coverage. ABC’s isn’t that bad and Scott Clark is pretty good, but he is not as old school as Len Berman. The nice thing about the TV news sports is that they rarely talk about the Eagles, Flyers and Phillies like all the newspapers do. That is a nice break.
Is Perplexed’s comment above serious? Is it supposed to be some post-modern humor and I just don’t get it?
I love Tim Lake’s question “If your attorney has suggested you not speak out on it, has he recommended you not?” It’s like Tim Lake is trying to catch Milton Street in some word game. I expect the next question to be “Taxevadersayswhat?” or “When did you stop committing fraud on the city?”
Has anyone else ever gotten the impression that Tim Lake is secretly a robot? I feel that would explain so many things.
I am not being funny. I watch NBC’s news and no Tim Lake. The hosts of the 11 o’clock news are Chuck Scarborough and Sue Simmons. I really don’t know that much about TV, but I have heard nothing about this Milton Street story on the TV news on any of the TV stations - ABC, CBS, CW, MY, NBC, or PBS.
Wednesday NBC was going nuts about the christmas tree lighting and did not interview any one who even remotely looked like Milton Street.
Should I stop watching NBC’s news and watch ABC’s Eyewitness News? Their Liz Cho is hot, but I don’t like that they have the sports at the end.
And can someone explain why ABC did not have the ABC Thanksgiving parade on last week? I tuned in and it was Regis and Kelly.
