Adwatch: Bucks County Kitchens
Today, Adwatch looks at Mike Fitzpatrick, Republican congressman for the Eighth Congressional District, and his recent attack ads toward his opponent. The ads mostly just replay a clip of Patrick Murphy on Hardball, where he can’t tell Chris Matthews whether he would have voted for the Iraq war (which he served in), and they play up his inexperience. Let’s explore one of these attack ads, after the jump.
I must say, this ad seems pretty effective, unless you consider not being able to respond to Chris Matthews a plus (which I do). There are some strange techniques in this ad, though, for example:

what’s with the voiceover at the end? it’s so timid and scared sounding like fitzpatrick was bullied into making the ad by his own pac.
i was totally expecting “i’m mike fitzpatrick…and i already regret this ad.”
The other thing in the ad I noticed was that the TV had a set of rabbit ear antenna yet hardball is a cable show. What’s up with that somebody find a way to steal cable from the air? How can I do that?
