Breaking: ‘Inky’, ‘DN’ Union Authorizes Strike
Employees of the Inquirer and Daily News voted nearly unanimously tonight to authorize a strike. The contact between the Newspaper Guild and management expires Oct. 31. Workers at the two papers will be off the job if a deal is not struck before then. About 500 people showed up to the meeting. Only four voted against the authorization to strike. More on this tomorrow, obviously. For now, you can read the backstory from Steve Volk. Oh, and look at that Daily News cover. Archives: Brian Tierney |
