Where’s Your Messiah Now?
Inspired by the Amish shootings earlier this week, our state’s fine lawmakers are really take a long time to reflect before they reflect even harder on how they can exploit this tragedy for personal gain. Okay, it’s not that bad. Obviously, not every lawmaker pushing for stricter gun laws is using the Amish, even if they reference it. And, yeah, nobody in our state legislature is all that callous. But you could cut the tension in the State House with a knife, as they say, especially when Rep. Daryl Metcalfe, from Butler county, said that allowing Philly to ban assault weapons was wrong. In fact, it gets so tense that the accusations start flying (emphasis mine):
“I am who am,” responded Metcalfe, as a bush burst into flames and quieted all debate. State lawmakers at a loss amid ‘culture of violence’ [Bucks County Courier Times] |
