Philadelphia Will Do

Bud Light Ad Reps Philly, Not Dogs

If you’ve ever listened to the radio, you may have heard Bud Light’s “Real Men Of Genius” ads. Like most beer ads attempting to be funny, they fall into the kinda-clever-maybe-sorta and where-the-hell-are-the-boobs-that-are-usually-in-these-beer-ads categories.

Well, now there’s one about Philadelphia sports fans:

Not bad, but with one problem: The dog show does come to town, guys. I’m not sure if we tailgate, but I’d sure like to.

Update, 2:28 p.m.: Changed the player since some of you were having problems with it. Sorry!

I think something is wrong with this embedded flash thingy, it makes my computer cry.

That ruled. Finally somebody in the world outside of Philly realizes that drunk, skinny Santa had it coming. I just heard Bob Lee of ESPN use “This is the town that booed Santa Clause” yesterday. This is the oldest, lamest joke ever. It would be like if you posted every day on your blog, “Take my wife. No, seriously, take my wife.”

2nd lamest sports reference, and one that local sports guys use EVERY SINGLE TIME we play the Rockets or Astros. “Houston, We Have a Problem.” Hack, hack, hack. You watch, if we lose to the Rockets this year, I guarantee that the Inky will use it as a headline.

I’m with Johnny - enough with the snowballs, already.

But, that being said, I think they should have replaced the second snowball reference with something like “…..you’d end up in stadium court over it.” Maybe too obscure, but snowball x 2 is overkill.

Haha, at least these ads are better than the normal radio crap that makes me fall asleep and crash into a school bus.

Remember when these used to be called “Real American Heroes” instead of “Real Men of Genius?” I guess 9/11 really did change everything. :`(
