Like A Bat Out Of Northeast Philly The bats, neighbors say, are from the home of one man, who has bats in his attic and hasn’t gotten them taken care of — because he wants to do it humanely. The neighbors cannot enjoy that rarified Northeast Philly air after 8:30 p.m., they say, because they get attacked by bats. Batgirl and Batwoman are two different people. Batgirl was a librarian, not a lesbian. There is some overlap between the two groups but the verb “to check out” means different things in each. Just wanted to clear that up.
I’d be interested in knowing exactly which neighborhood this was. If it was Fox Chase, and specifically the Montclair part of Fox Chase, we saw bats all the time flying ’round those homes in the late 60s. So…nothing new. You know, when you build houses (even ones built in the 50s) near a park such as Pennypack, well, need I say more about encroaching on someone else’s environment? Just my opinion, and they shouldn’t wonder why those bats were there!
