Breaking: ‘Daily News’ writer promises big story in ‘national magazine’

I’d like to take time out to wish none other than Daily News blogger Will Bunch a very happy blog birthday. Like all good Daily News (male) staffers, Bunch is a bearded fellow with thinning hair, and has been nothing but nice to people like me.

As such, let’s all give him a nice round of applause for his blog, Attytood. Tomorrow is the one-year anniversary of Attytood, one of the rare political blogs that uses complete sentences and coherent thoughts. Even if you disagree with Bunch, you can get through his entire argument without wanting to tear your hair out, which is a rare trait in any opinion columnists or bloggers. (Or, really, anyone with an opinion.)

As part of his one-year anniversary, Bunch is promising a shocker later today:

Here’s a major programming note. We’re going to celebrate the one-year birthday (!!) of Attytood, which is tomorrow, a few hours early. We’re going to be posting a link to a major, Attytood-produced story for a national publication that could shake up the tectonic plates, regarding an upcoming election…. come back sometime after 5 p.m. It’ll be worth the wait…we think.

Very cryptic here. Attytood-produced? What exactly does that mean? What election could it shake up? Will I come back to Attytood after 5 p.m. to find out what candidate slept with what deceased male prostitute?

Kudos, though, on not writing this major story for the Daily News. You wouldn’t want a small circulation spike or anything — Knight Ridder would probably get greedy and lay off another 50 or so people in response.
