Yesterday, the news broke that a reporter from the Dover Post was fired for his blog postings. And, well, he’s updated his blog with what happened in this week’s edition of the paper:
In a truly spineless move, the newspaper I was fired from erased my byline from all of my stories in today’s edition, even deleting my photo credits. They also completely pulled my fluffy yet gonzo Super Bowl etiquette story, likely because it was obvious who wrote it. More people than ever will be reading that rag this week, so I was a little surprised at their strategy.
Whoo! Now, a little bit of searching led me to a few other places that mentioned the story. And, as usual, they’re amazing. So I’m going to play Michelle Malkin and just cut and paste and cut and paste and cut and paste until I have a full semblance of a post! You ready? I’ll let you do all the jokes yourself, since, really, it’s pretty easy. All of it is after the jump.
First, I’ll check in at Michael Crook’s official blog:
This kind of injustice cannot stand, and I hope that many subscribers and advertisers hit this communist newspaper where it counts: the wallet. Then maybe Flood himself will be out of work, and will get his just desserts.
Okay, let’s move on, to The First Slate:
By no means is this an endorsement of Donegan’s writing. It’s really offensive…. But it’s also really funny. It’s also representative of someone with a) an appropriate sense of humor for someone in the gender and age bracket of Donegan and b) someone who THINKS HE IS JUST TALKING TO HIS FRIENDS.
Let’s move on to Politakid, who’s apparently a 17-year-old Republican:
Donegan’s firing should be a powerful message to the millions of kids and so-called adults who have sleazy MySpace sites. No employer, now or in the future, is going to want an employee who runs a filth site.
And, finally, from Shut Your Space, which is dedicated to “the online profiles and journals the deceased and/or disgraced have left behind.” Indeed:
To his credit, Donegan has kept his MySpace account apparently unchanged since the publicity. The coverup is always worse than the event…well, in this case, it’s hard to imagine that anyone could dream up a bigger idiot than the one portrayed currently in his MySpace.
Okay, this is already a trainwreck. I’m done. But, hey, I just created a guide to make your own Michelle Malkin blog post!
