Philadelphia Will Do

Quickies: Metro enters into, oh, 1997 or so

• Got an e-mail yesterday from a staffer at a local publication: “If you didn’t already know, I wanted to give you a heads up that we launched our web site today.” (I cut all the gushing.) Gushing, my friends, is how you get me to link you. Or be my friend. Anyway, I’ll hold up my end of the bargain: Metro Philadelphia now has a website. Huzzah! [Metro Philly]

• Studies show that towns — before they were destroyed by hurricanes — that had slots parlors were wise to put them downtown. Philadelphia, of course, is likely to not put the slots parlor on that prime piece of land where the Funk-O-Mart currently sits. [Inky]

• Steven A. was on Letterman last night. I apologize for not covering this, but, uhm, yeah. Late night television. [Deadspin]

• I can’t find a fourth link right now. So here’s a cute, fluffy puppy. [Flickr]

What? Are you slacking off for the holidays? I know you can find a cuter, more puppyish-looking puppy than that. Puhleeeze… My 10 year old dog, for instance.

Oh, come on! He’s different than the tiny little puppies I usually post, and he looks like he’d be adorable to hug. You always have to consider the “how much fun would it be to hug this puppy” factor when considering to post a puppy photo.

But, as I take criticism nicely, I will post a more “puppy-like” puppy photo later in the week. Bark!
