Next, Lane stole Mendte’s lunch money

When news anchors argue, things get heated. Dan Gross has the scoop:

CBS 3 STAFFERS were reminded of the at-odds characters Ron Burgundy and Veronica Corningstone in “Anchorman” last week when Larry Mendte and Alycia Lane got into a heated exchange on-set following Tuesday’s 6 p.m. newscast.

The argument, about the length of time devoted to a news story, started professionally but soon delved into the personal, with sources saying Mendte told Lane she was only there to read off the TelePrompTer, and she told him that he’s on his way out, while she’s on her way up.

We’re not sure how we feel about the Anchorman reference, Danny, but nice job. Do you and Stu ever argue like this?

Anyway, where were we? Oh, right: this argument. So, basically, television news anchoring is like fifth grade. Sounds about right. Oh, and Larry, don’t mess with our girl Alicia. We like you, but, well, we like Alycia a little more.

Note: We like Stephanie Abrams just as much.
