Philadelphia Will Do

And don’t get us started on ‘Big Brother’

092605dunce.gif Tonight Tomorrow is the premiere of The Amazing Race: Family Edition! And the show’s first episode features contestants hitching rides to Philly and then pitching tents on Belmont Plateau! Yaaaaaay!

Guh? No, not that it’s a strange premise — I’m actually more surprised that the Daily News didn’t put them on the cover! After all, these are pseudo-celebrities in our town for a night. (Well, they were in our town when the show was filmed.) I’m also surprised that Joe Natoli hasn’t tried to lay them off them as well.

Ellen Gray has the scoop today, including an interview with host Phil Keoghan, who talks about how they had to shoot during the summer since there are kids on this season of the reality race show:

“We don’t want to be responsible for the dumbing-down of American society,” he joked.

Uhh, I think you’re a little late for that, Phil. Way too late.
