Frankly, I’ve been getting pretty darn excited when I turn to the back page of The Evening Bulletin, my former employer. Since I left, they’ve hired Herb Denenberg to do a daily column for them, titled “The Advocate,” which touches on (apparently) everything under the sun.

Yesterday’s questions included the following topics: trees, delicate skin, smoking (and its connection to arthritis) and the number of items carried in supermarkets. (The answer, according to Herb, is 32,000, though he says there is one “new tough competitor” that stocks only 2,800 — I assume this is Trader Joe’s.)

I’m waiting for “Dear Herb: I got a particularly wicked paper cut yesterday. How do I avoid getting them?” He’d probably have a useful answer, too.
